January 18 the economy and leisure.

January 19, 2009 § Leave a comment

The economic situation is a mess. Remember after ww2, the coming leisure? What happened? Productivity. That is, fire workers and make those left over produce more. So leisure was absorbed by money flowing toward the rich. No leisure, only more pressure for fewer jobs.

The attempt to fix the economy is also an attempt to hold some things as they have been. Keep workers working for low wages.
