Clinton begins to bat for Haiti

The former US President, Bill Clinton, has formally taken up his post as the United Nations Special Envoy to Haiti.

The UN announced last month that it would be appointing Mr Clinton in a bid to attract investment to the country.

He will be paid a symbolic $1-a-year salary and intends to travel to the country several times a year.
